The most compact and affordable TMF unit with two phased array transducers and 3D visualization and analysis software in standard delivery set.
A compact, ergonomic and easy to handheld Phased Array unit based on Total Focusing Method for easy-going imaging of inspection objects with two-dimensional and three-dimensional visualization and evaluation of inspection results.
The instrument has ultra-compact design and is performed in lite-weight shockproof plastic housing. 800-gram weight allows one hand operation in hardly accessible locations. The Multi-SAFT image reconstruction technology offers unique flaw detection capability and extraordinary spatial resolution. Additional imaging and analysis functionality is provided by included INTROVIEW visualization software.
The instrument is equipped with two phased array transducers suitable for most of the regular ultrasonic weld testing. Additional transducers can be purchased for casting and forging inspection.
A1550 Solo covers most of the regular metal inspection tasks, such as:
- Manual and semi-mechanized ultrasonic weld testing including B, C & D-Scan visualization (by purchasing ACS pipe scanner)
- Testing of small-diameter pipes
- Testing of casting and forging parts

Applications of the A1525 Solo
The A1525 Solo is a compact TFM phased array instrument for manual and semi-mechanized ultrasonic weld testing with B, C and D-Scan visualization, including testing of small-diameter pipes and of casting and forging parts.
The Multi-SAFT image reconstruction technology of the A1525 Solo delivers unique flaw detection capability with extraordinary spatial resolution, while tomographic visualization of the inspection volume allows accurate flaw sizing that is difficult to achieve with a conventional single-channel flaw detector.
Thanks to its ultra-compact 800-gram design, the A1525 Solo is operated with one hand in hardly accessible locations, covering most regular metal inspection tasks with two-dimensional and three-dimensional evaluation of the inspection results.
Two phased array transducers are supplied in the standard delivery set, so the instrument arrives ready for most regular ultrasonic weld testing applications.
A1525 Solo key features
- Phased array data processing based on the Total Focusing Method (TFM) with 16 array elements and channels, providing high-resolution imaging of the inspection object and reliable interpretation of results.
- The A1525 Solo operates at 1.0, 1.8, 2.5, 4.0, 5.0, 7.5 and 10 MHz with a dynamic range of 100 dB, giving detailed evaluation of reflectors across a wide range of materials and wall thicknesses.
- Lightweight shockproof plastic housing — the electronic unit weighs only 0.8 kg (260 x 157 x 43 mm) and allows one-hand operation in hardly accessible locations.
- 640 x 480 TFT display for two-dimensional and three-dimensional visualization and evaluation of inspection results.
- Two phased array transducers are included in the standard delivery set (M9065 4 MHz shear wave and M9170 4 MHz shear wave); additional transducers for casting and forging inspection are available.
